Sail Satori offers sailing education for the 21st century, through a partnership with NauticEd and Sail Satori’s own, top-rated on the-water sailing instruction. Our combined offering provides a cutting-edge online learning experience with our top-rated sailing instruction on well-suited sailing yachts out on Salem Sound. Unlike most other sailing programs offered in the market today, the NauticEd curriculum and licensure process adheres to the U.S. Coast Guard approved American National Standard for sailing.

Sail Satori offers the following certifications through NauticEd:
Qualified Crew
QUALIFIED CREW MEMBER CERTIFICATION
Learn sailing fundamentals and feel confident as an able crew member.

This rank is ideal for family members or spouses who want to be a helpful part of the sailing experience without necessarily learning the finer details and have sufficient knowledge to act in an emergency situation.
​
This training is often combined with our Skipper Large Keelboat training where one person is learning crew skills and the other person is learning skipper skills.

NauticEd Qualified Crew online course

FREE Basic Sail Trim online course, FREE Navigation Rules course and FREE NauticEd electronic online logbook

12 hours over a 3-day weekend Sailing Fundamentals weekend on-the-water practical instruction covering topics such as sailing, tacking, gybing, reefing, the set of the sails, maneuvering in close quarters, rules of right of way, sail trim, helming, docking
Cost: $37.50 (added to cost of Weekend Course)
Custom on-the-water classes (based on experience). Couples / family combinations available, call for details
Certification:
Upon successful demonstration of competence, and completion of the online courses, you will receive the NauticEd internationally recognized Qualified Crew Rank Level I.

Expectations:
At the end of this course, you will feel confident with your knowledge and abilities to contribute as a crew member on a large or small keelboat.
If you want to build your competence as skipper through a proven curriculum, the Nauticed certification is for you. This combination of training and competence-based assessment, will ensure you can take your friends and family out safely and with confidence!

Upon a successful pass of theory and practical training and assessment, you’ll gain the NauticEd small keelboat certification which is recognized by the American National Standards for sailing training and assessment.

This training is for those wanting to skipper a small keelboat (up to 25 ft). This training can be combined with our Qualified Crew training where one person is learning crew skills and the other person is learning skipper skills.

Certification:
Upon successful demonstration of competence, you will receive the NauticEd internationally recognized Skipper Small Keelboat Rank, Level I. This certificate complies with the United States Coast Guard American National Standards for sailing training and assessment.

At the end of this course, you will start to feel confident with your knowledge and abilities to skipper and crew on a small keelboat close to your home port. Students are expected to complete the online course material prior to showing up for practical training.
Large
SKIPPER LARGE KEELBOAT CERTIFICATION
(25' - 56')
Build your confidence and get certified as a Skipper of a large keelboat through US Coast Guard approved standards. Utilizing Nauticed’s certification and Sail Satori on-the-water instruction aboard a Hunter 33’ this comprehensive program will bring your sailing skill to the next level!
This training is for those wanting to skipper a large keelboat (25 - 56 ft). This training can be combined with our Qualified Crew training where one person is learning crew skills and the other person is learning skipper skills.

Certification:
Upon successful demonstration of competence, you will receive the NauticEd internationally recognized Skipper Rank Level I certificate and rank.

BAREBOAT CHARTER MASTER CERTIFICATE
Bareboat Charter
​
If you are interested in taking your family and friends on a bareboat charter but you are looking to build your confidence and competence, this is the best program available for getting you up to speed. You will walk away from this course with the needed skills and a certificate that is well known and accepted at charter companies across the globe.
​
Depending on your goals, this can also include the Mediterranean Sailing License to allow you to charter in the med which many sailors coming from the US find to be challenging when presenting other credentials.

We will then customize your on the water instruction and assessment based on your experience so let us craft a special program to get you and your friends out on a charter adventure!
