Beginner sailing course on a 22' keelboat
Description
Basic Sailing Fundamentals Course (with new optional online learning & certification, see below for details on receiving certificate) Open to adults and teens, this is a comprehensive basic sailing course that includes three days on the water with an optional online-based instruction of sailing theory. In addition, students will have the option of receiving a US Coast Guard-backed certification. Your sailing class will be based out of the West Shore in Marblehead with easy access to the beautiful Salem Sound! Whether you have never sailed before, or sailed quite a bit and feel you could use more instruction, this extensive curriculum provides a strong foundation for wherever your sailing dreams may take you. Curriculum Includes: - Sailing Terminology - Sailing Theory – How a boat sails - Basic Boathandling - Basic Sail Trim - Rules of the Road - Basic Navigation Rules - Essential Sailing Knots - Preparation and Safety - Mooring/Anchoring Maneuvers - Crew Overboard Drill (Don't worry, no one goes in the water) The course is taught aboard Satori, our safe and comfortable Capri 22' sailboat, shown in above image. This same design is used by many sailing schools since ideal for teaching.
